DayNews is a daily AI briefing operated by Cognico Inc. Using the site or the app means you accept these terms. They are written plainly on purpose — if anything here is unclear, email hello@cognico.ai and ask.
Using DayNews
Reading, listening, and sharing need no account. An account exists so your saved stories, your own story cards, and your reading history follow you between devices. Accounts are held by our sign-in provider, Clerk — see the privacy policy for what is stored and for how long.
One account is for one person. Keep your sign-in secure; you are responsible for what happens under your account.
DayNews Pro
Pro is a paid subscription. It currently includes creating your own story cards from any link, asking questions about a card, your weekly audio playlist, an unlimited library, and new Pro features as they ship. Today that price is $7.99 per month or $71.88 per year in US dollars, shown at checkout before you pay.
Pro carries fair-use limits so one account cannot consume the service for everyone — currently 30 created story cards per calendar month. If you hit a limit and have a good reason to need more, email us.
Reading, listening, sharing and saving stay free with an account. A free account keeps up to 20 saved stories; Pro removes that limit. Nothing is deleted when you reach it — remove a story to make room, or upgrade.
Features change. We may add to Pro, and we may retire parts of it — as we retired per-card audio narration in September 2026. If we remove something substantial you are paying for, we will say so and you can cancel.
Billing and renewal
Payments are processed by Stripe through Clerk. We never see or store your card details. A subscription renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel, at the price shown when you subscribed. If the price changes, we will tell you before it applies to you.
Taxes may be added depending on where you are. If a payment fails, Pro features stop until it succeeds.
Cancelling
Cancel any time from your subscription page, reachable from the account menu. You keep Pro until the end of the period you have already paid for; we do not pro-rate a partial month or year.
Cancelling does not delete your account or your cards — they stay, minus the Pro features. To delete everything, see privacy.
Refunds
If something went wrong — a duplicate charge, a charge after you cancelled, a renewal you did not intend and have not used — email hello@cognico.ai and we will refund it. We would rather refund you than argue.
Beyond that, payments for a period you have used are not refundable.
What DayNews is, and is not
Summaries, deep dives, diagrams, and audio on DayNews are generated by AI and can be wrong. They condense someone else’s reporting or research, and condensing loses things. Every story links to its source, and the source is what you should rely on.
Nothing here is investment, legal, medical, or professional advice. Do not make a decision that matters on a card alone.
Headlines, articles, and papers belong to the publishers and authors who made them. We link out to them and quote only what a briefing needs.
Your content
When you paste a link and create a card, the card is yours to read, keep, and share. You give us permission to store and process it so the product can work — generate the summary, produce the audio, show it in your library. Do not paste content you have no right to use.
Fair use
Do not attempt to break, overload, or automate against the service; do not scrape it; do not resell it. We may suspend an account that does, and we will tell you why.
Availability
DayNews is a small product and is provided as-is. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and to the extent the law allows, our liability is limited to what you have paid us in the past twelve months. The briefing depends on sources we do not control — some days a feed is down and a story is missing.
Ending things
You can stop using DayNews and delete your account whenever you like. We may close an account that breaks these terms, and will refund any unused paid period when we do.
Changes
We will update these terms as the product changes. The effective date at the top always reflects the current version, and we will tell subscribers about changes that affect what they pay for or what they get.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
